Occupational Therapy (Children & Youth)

We integrate evidence-informed occupational therapy approaches with nature-inspired strategies to support growing independence and meaningful participation in everyday activities such as self-care, learning, and play. Centered on children’s lived experiences, therapy fosters social-emotional skills, physical literacy, and ecological awareness through movement, play, and connection with nature. Interventions may include direct or indirect contact with nature (e.g., outdoor play-based sessions, animal-assisted interactions, nature-based metaphor and imagery, or immersive virtual experiences) to enhance engagement and therapeutic outcomes.

Psychotherapy is a way of helping people understand themselves, cope with challenges, and feel better by talking, reflecting, and practicing new ways of thinking, feeling, and acting. We use an integrative, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate approach that blends evidence-based psychotherapeutic practices with nature-connected psychotherapy, drawing upon nature’s health benefits and wisdom to support regulation, resilience, self-awareness, and meaningful change. Therapy may include direct or indirect contact with nature depending on individual preferences and needs (e.g., nature immersive/ outdoor experiences and animal- assisted interactions, nature immersive virtual reality, nature-based metaphor and biophilic design) to enrich the therapeutic process and outcomes.
